They are showcasing the Grand Prize Winner of the 2007 San Antonio Underground Film Festival - Rick Ernst's "Get Thrashed: the Story of Thrash Metal"... Get Thrashed traces the rise, fall and impact of thrash metal; from its early years, through its influence on grunge, nu metal and today's heavy metal scene. http://www.getthrashed.com/ SAFF are raising funds for one of their volunteers, Greg Crone, who has been assisting with the film festival since they started over 13 years ago. His daughter, Tiffany B. Hannsz, has a diagnosis of a grade 2 astrocytoma brain tumor, due to its location it is inoperatable. The emotional and financial costs associated with something like this is nightmarish for his family. Donations accepted at any Bank of America. The screening is outdoors and is free to all, SAFF is only asking that if people attend that they donate what they can.
