applications close soon! Returning after three successful years, MeetMarket (with international and Australian buyers) will return to Adelaide in February 2009 for the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC).

An initiative of Screen Australia and AIDC, MeetMarket offers Oz documentary makers selected to take part a chance to meet with potential buyers both locally and on the international market.. Submissions are made available to all through MeetMarket’s innovative online portal.

Application requirements posted on Screen Australias website include a two-minute video pitch teaser of their documentary project which will assist selectors in choosing up to 20 projects. The online pitch teasers will then be made available to buyers attending AIDC who will then request meetings with the filmmakers which will take place during the conference.

A Screen Australia media release guarantees successful applicants will have the opportunity to participate in a pitch preparation session the day before the conference commences”.

Entries for selection close this Thursday 20 November 2008 so if you have a very limited time to prepare your submission. If you have already begun preparing a teaser than prospective pitchers are urged to send in their material ASAP.

This years SPAA FRINGE is almost here and the lineup is as impressive as ever. Once again the two day festival held at Sydneys Chauvel over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of October will play host to one on one workshpops with industry professionals, panel discussions and film screenings as well as the chance to network not only with industry professionals, but with emerging independent filmmakers and enthusiast as well.
